The HKATC organised an intensive Cross-Examination Skills Workshop in October 2025, aimed at developing the advocacy skills of junior barristers and pupil barristers in Hong Kong.

The workshop brought together experienced practitioners and trainers who have been trained in the Hampel method of advocacy training. Participants engaged in practical exercises designed to build confidence and competence in courtroom cross-examination.

Programme Highlights

The programme was structured over three days, covering foundational techniques on the first day, advanced strategies on the second, and live practice sessions with immediate feedback on the final day.

Each participant received one-on-one coaching from senior counsel, ensuring personalised guidance tailored to their individual development needs.

Networking and collaboration

The workshop was well-received by all participants, who praised the practical, hands-on approach to advocacy training. The HKATC remains committed to providing high-quality training opportunities that uphold the standards of advocacy in Hong Kong.
